About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Operations Research Analyst to develop mathematical models, simulate scenarios, and provide actionable insights that streamline our internal operations and client engagements. You will collaborate with cross-functional virtual teams, using cutting-edge cloud tools to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and forecast demand with precision.

In this role, you will own the analytical backbone of our optimization projects. Working entirely from your home office, you’ll build simulation models, validate assumptions, and recommend improvements that directly boost our bottom line. Because we are a 100% distributed organization, all meetings, tools, and deliverables are cloud-based and designed for asynchronous success.

Key Responsibilities

Core Analytical Duties

You will formulate linear and mixed-integer programming models to solve routing, scheduling, and inventory problems. Using Python, R, and SQL, you’ll clean large datasets, run Monte Carlo simulations, and visualize outcomes for non-technical stakeholders. Regular virtual whiteboarding sessions will keep you aligned with product and operations leads, ensuring your models reflect real-world constraints.

Strategic Collaboration

Although remote, you’ll be highly connected through weekly video syncs, shared dashboards, and a culture of written documentation that ensures clarity. You’ll present monthly insight reports to leadership, highlighting efficiency gains and proposing new performance targets. You will also mentor junior analysts in remote best practices and help standardize our analytical playbooks.

Requirements

Must-Have Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field, plus two or more years of professional analytics experience. Proficiency in optimization solvers such as Gurobi or CPLEX and statistical programming languages is essential. Strong communication skills to convey technical findings to diverse audiences are required, as is a self-directed work ethic suited to home-based environments.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree or MBA with analytics focus; prior experience in remote-first companies; familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure; knowledge of machine learning pipelines. Salary Range

Based on industry standards for a fully remote Operations Research Analyst in the United States, we offer a competitive compensation of $78,000 – $108,000 USD/year, commensurate with experience. Performance bonuses and stock options are additional, with annual reviews to reward impact.
