About the Role

As a Remote Medical Assistant, you will be the backbone of our virtual clinic, handling both clinical and administrative tasks that keep our telehealth services running smoothly. You will work closely with physicians, nurses, and patient care coordinators to prepare patients for video visits, update electronic health records, and follow up on test results. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct pre‑visit patient interviews and collect vital health information via phone or secure messaging.
• Prepare and update electronic health records (EHR) before, during, and after virtual appointments.
• Assist physicians during telehealth visits by documenting notes, ordering labs, and prescribing medications as directed.
• Coordinate follow‑up care, including scheduling appointments, arranging referrals, and transmitting prescriptions to pharmacies.
• Handle incoming patient inquiries, triage urgent concerns, and provide education on treatment plans.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards while managing protected health information.
• Participate in weekly team huddles and continuous training sessions to stay current on telehealth best practices.

Requirements

• Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential.
• Minimum of 1‑2 years of experience in a clinical medical assistant role, preferably in ambulatory or telehealth settings.
• Proficiency with EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or similar) and telehealth platforms.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain medical information clearly to patients.

Salary Range

Based on industry standards for remote medical assistants, the expected compensation for this position is $45,000 – $65,000 USD per year, commensurate with experience and certifications.
