About the Role

As a Remote Mechanical Designer, you will be a core contributor to our product development lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams of engineers, product managers, and manufacturing specialists — all without stepping into a physical office.

What You Will Do

• Design, model, and simulate mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks, CATIA, or Fusion 360.
• Create detailed 2D drawings, GD&T specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for manufacturing.
• Conduct FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and thermal simulations to validate design integrity and performance.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers and industrial designers to ensure seamless product integration.
• Participate in design reviews, prototype testing, and provide engineering support during production ramp-up.
• Document design decisions, maintain version control, and ensure compliance with industry standards (ISO, ASME).
• Communicate daily with the remote engineering team via Slack, Microsoft Teams, and project management tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional experience in mechanical design, product development, or mechanical engineering.
• Advanced proficiency in CAD software — SolidWorks preferred; CATIA, Fusion 360, or NX are a plus.
• Hands-on experience with FEA and/or CFD simulation tools (ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation, or similar).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including CNC machining, injection molding, and sheet metal fabrication.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective remote collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
• Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems such as Windchill or Arena.
• Prior experience working in a fully remote or hybrid engineering team.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards for medical devices (FDA, ISO 13485) or consumer electronics (UL, CE).

Salary Range

Compensation: $60,000 – $90,000 USD/year

Salary is determined based on experience, location within the U.S., and scope of expertise. This role is a full-time, salaried W-2 position. Top-tier candidates with specialized industry experience may be offered compensation above the upper range.
