We’re hiring a talented Mechanical Designer to join our innovative team on a fully remote basis. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to bring cutting-edge product concepts to life — all without leaving your home office.
About the Role
As a Remote Mechanical Designer, you will play a pivotal role in the product development lifecycle, from initial concept sketches to final production-ready designs. You’ll work with industry-leading CAD tools to develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems that meet strict performance, quality, and manufacturing standards. This is a fully remote position open to talented individuals across the United States who thrive in autonomous, collaborative work environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and refine 2D and 3D mechanical components and assemblies using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Create detailed engineering drawings, GD&T specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Conduct tolerance analysis, FEA simulations, and design validation testing to ensure product reliability.
- Collaborate remotely with engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Participate in design reviews and provide constructive technical feedback to peers and stakeholders.
- Support prototype development and troubleshoot design-related issues during production.
- Maintain design documentation and ensure compliance with industry standards and internal quality procedures.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a closely related field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in mechanical design, product development, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, or Fusion 360.
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.
- Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective remote collaboration.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with simulation tools such as ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation, or similar FEA packages.
- Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems.
- Background in consumer products, aerospace, automotive, medical devices, or industrial equipment design.
- Knowledge of 3D printing, CNC machining, or injection molding processes.
Salary Range
$60,000 – $85,000 USD per year, depending on experience, education, and location within the United States. Senior-level candidates with specialized industry expertise may be considered for higher compensation. This competitive salary reflects the value we place on top-tier remote talent.
