About the Role

As a Remote Mechanical Designer, you will own the complete design lifecycle—from concept sketches to production‑ready CAD models—for a variety of high‑impact projects. You will work closely with systems engineers, industrial designers, and manufacturing partners to ensure every component meets performance, cost, and sustainability targets. The role demands a blend of creative problem‑solving, rigorous analysis, and clear communication across time zones.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop 3D models and detailed 2D drawings using SolidWorks (or equivalent) for mechanical assemblies, enclosures, and actuation mechanisms.
• Perform tolerance stack‑up analysis, finite‑element simulations, and design‑for‑manufacturability reviews.
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), revision control, and design documentation in PLM systems.
• Collaborate with suppliers to qualify tooling, validate prototypes, and drive continuous improvement.
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments (FMEA), and regulatory compliance activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a related discipline.
• 4+ years of professional experience designing mechanical hardware for mass‑produced products.
• Expert proficiency in SolidWorks (or Creo/Inventor) with a strong portfolio of complex assemblies.
• Solid understanding of GD&T, injection molding, CNC machining, sheet metal, and additive manufacturing processes.
• Experience with simulation tools (FEA, CFD) and PLM platforms (Windchill, Teamcenter, or similar).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting designs to remote stakeholders.
• Self‑motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a distributed team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Salary Range
