About the Role

In this fully remote position, you will serve as a cornerstone of our product development practice, shaping mechanical architecture for devices used in industrial, medical, and consumer applications. You will partner with cross-functional teams—electrical engineers, software developers, supply chain leads, and manufacturing partners—to ensure designs perform beautifully in the real world. Rather than producing isolated drawings, you’ll craft holistic systems that balance durability, serviceability, and scalability.

Day-to-day responsibilities span the full product lifecycle. You’ll interpret customer needs and market trends into design criteria, run analytical models, and iterate quickly using modern CAD tools. You’ll draft detailed 3D models and 2D drawings, define tolerances and material specifications, and support prototype builds and testing. When parts arrive, you’ll review first-article inspections, guide corrective actions, and shepherd revisions into stable production releases. Communication is central: you’ll document decisions, maintain clean revision histories, and keep stakeholders aligned through concise updates and visual clarity.

Core Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in parametric CAD (SolidWorks, Creo, or Inventor) and industry-standard drawing practices (GD&T, ASME or ISO standards).
• Experience designing for manufacturing and assembly across machining, injection molding, sheet metal, and extrusions.
• Strong grasp of materials, fastening methods, seals, and thermal considerations relevant to electromechanical products.
• Ability to interpret and create control plans, BOM structures, and engineering change processes.
• Comfort with remote collaboration tools, clear written communication, and asynchronous workflows.
• Prior exposure to testing, validation, and supplier quality processes is highly valued.

Preferred Background

While not required, experience in regulated industries—medical devices, robotics, or industrial automation—adds immediate leverage. Familiarity with tolerance stack-up analysis, mold flow basics, or design for reliability methods strengthens your impact. Salary Range

$70,000 – $105,000 USD/year, commensurate with experience and scope of responsibility. Total compensation may include performance-based incentives tied to product milestones and team outcomes.
