About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our growing team in a 100% remote capacity. In this role, you will be responsible for creating detailed mechanical designs, developing 3D models, and producing technical drawings for a diverse range of products. You will collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs meet functional requirements, industry standards, and production timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D models and 2D engineering drawings using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and other CAD software
• Develop and refine mechanical designs based on engineering specifications and performance criteria
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance
• Perform design reviews and suggest improvements for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness
• Generate bill of materials (BOM) and technical documentation
• Support prototyping efforts and design iterations based on testing feedback
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards, codes, and safety regulations

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical design or product development
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and other CAD software tools
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials selection
• Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) tools
• Knowledge of PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems
• Background in consumer products, industrial equipment, or medical devices
• Certification in SolidWorks or related CAD software

Salary Range

$65,000 – $85,000 USD/year

Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes comprehensive benefits package.
