Are you a CAD wizard with a passion for turning ideas into tangible products? Join our forward‑thinking engineering team and shape the future of consumer electronics—while staying home. This role blends creativity, precision, and collaboration across a global network of designers and developers.

Salary Range

$55,000 – $75,000 USD per year (based on experience and skill level)

About the Role

As a Remote Mechanical Designer at TechNova Solutions, you will be instrumental in the end‑to‑end design of cutting‑edge wearable devices. You’ll collaborate with industrial designers, electrical engineers, and product managers to deliver high‑quality prototypes and production‑ready parts that meet stringent performance and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed 3D CAD models and 2‑D drawings using SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or CATIA.
  • Perform tolerance analysis, stress simulations, and manufacturability reviews to ensure designs are robust and cost‑effective.
  • Lead material selection and surface finish decisions, balancing durability, aesthetics, and supply‑chain constraints.
  • Prepare BOMs, packaging drawings, and assembly instructions for manufacturing partners worldwide.
  • Participate in rapid prototyping sessions, iterating designs based on user feedback and test results.
  • Document design changes and maintain version control in a cloud‑based repository (e.g., SharePoint, Box).
  • Collaborate with the quality team to develop inspection plans and support factory audits.

Requirements

We’re looking for a candidate who brings a blend of technical expertise and a collaborative mindset:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience designing consumer electronics or similarly complex product families.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks (or equivalent) with a strong portfolio of production‑ready designs.
  • Experience with FEA and CFD tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, or SolidWorks Simulation) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of injection molding, CNC machining, and 3D printing processes.
  • Strong communication skills—able to translate technical details into clear, actionable insights for non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working independently in a virtual team environment.
  • Familiarity with PLM systems (e.g., Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill) is desirable.

Benefits

Working remotely at TechNova means you receive all the perks of a full‑time employee without the commute:

  • Competitive salary plus annual performance bonus potential.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance (including telehealth services).
  • Flexible paid time off: 20 days per year + public holidays.
  • Unlimited remote work days—work from your home office, a co‑working space, or a coffee shop.
  • Annual stipend for home office equipment and high‑speed internet.
  • Access to a global learning portal—online courses, conferences, and certifications.
  • 401(k) matching program (if you’re in the U.S.) or equivalent retirement plan in other regions.
  • Employee referral bonus program.
