About the Role

The IT Manager is the strategic leader responsible for ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient technology operations across a distributed workforce. You will partner with department heads to align IT initiatives with business goals, manage vendor relationships, and drive continuous improvement in service delivery. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise‑wide IT infrastructure including networks, servers, cloud services, and endpoint devices.
• Lead a team of system administrators, help‑desk analysts, and security engineers; conduct performance reviews, coaching, and career development.
• Develop and enforce IT policies, security protocols, and disaster‑recovery plans to protect company data and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Manage IT budget, forecast expenses, and negotiate contracts with hardware, software, and service providers to maximize value.
• Oversee incident management, problem resolution, and change control processes to minimize downtime and maintain service level agreements.
• Collaborate with security officers to conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing; lead remediation efforts.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend upgrades or migrations that enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.

Requirements

Candidates should demonstrate a blend of technical expertise, leadership ability, and a proven track record of managing IT operations in a remote or hybrid environment. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and comfortable making data‑driven decisions.

Technical Skills

• Deep knowledge of Windows/Linux server administration, Active Directory, and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V).
• Experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS management.
• Proficiency in network routing, switching, VPNs, firewalls, and Wi‑Fi enterprise solutions.
• Familiarity with IT service management tools (ServiceNow, Jira Service Management) and monitoring platforms (SolarWinds, Datadog, Nagios).
• Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and endpoint protection solutions.
• Scripting ability in PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation tasks.

Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent work experience considered.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive IT experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
• Proven success managing IT budgets of $500K+ and leading teams of 5‑15 technical staff.
• Strong project management skills; familiarity with Agile or ITIL methodologies is a plus.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities to liaise with executive stakeholders and remote teams.
• Certifications such as ITIL Foundation, PMP, CISSP, or Microsoft/Azure Administrator are advantageous but not required.
