Salary & Compensation

About the Role & Impact

As our Remote IT Manager, you will own the full technology lifecycle for a globally distributed workforce. You will transition from maintaining systems to strategically leveraging technology as a business enabler. Reporting directly to the VP of Operations, you will balance day-to-day operational excellence with long-term strategic planning, ensuring our technology stack is robust, secure, and aligned with aggressive business objectives. Your leadership will foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and exceptional service within the IT department and across the entire organization.

Key Strategic Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the annual IT strategic plan, budgeting, and roadmap, focusing on cloud migration, automation, and security enhancements.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 5-7 remote IT specialists (SysAdmins, Support, DevOps) through effective coaching and career development.
  • Oversee enterprise cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure preferred), ensuring high availability, cost-optimization, and disaster recovery preparedness.
  • Champion cybersecurity posture by managing policies, incident response, compliance (SOX, GDPR as applicable), and employee security awareness training.
  • Serve as the primary technology advisor to executive leadership, translating business needs into scalable technical solutions.
  • Manage vendor relationships, SLA negotiations, and technology procurement to maximize value and minimize risk.
  • Standardize and improve IT operational processes, documentation, and knowledge base for a seamless remote support experience.

Qualifications & Requirements

We need a proven leader with a blend of deep technical acumen and exceptional people skills, honed in a remote or hybrid environment.

Must-Have Experience & Skills

  • 5+ years of IT management experience, with at least 2+ years managing a fully remote technical team.
  • Expert-level knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including IaaS, networking, and security services.
  • Hands-on experience with IT security frameworks, endpoint management (MDM), and network security (firewalls, VPN, Zero Trust concepts).
  • Proven ability to manage an IT budget (typically $500k+), forecast costs, and execute cost-saving initiatives.
  • Mastery of ITIL or similar service management frameworks and experience with ticketing systems (Jira, ServiceNow).
  • Exceptional communication skills—able to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical executives and provide clear direction to your team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
