About the Role

As a Remote Information Security Analyst at NexGen CyberShield, you aren’t just monitoring logs—you are the first line of defense in a digital war. In this role, you will leverage cutting-edge SIEM tools and threat intelligence to identify vulnerabilities and orchestrate rapid responses to security breaches. You will work closely with our DevOps and Engineering teams to bake security into the very fabric of our product lifecycle.

This is a 100% Work-from-Home position designed for a self-starter who thrives in an autonomous environment. You will be responsible for the integrity of our cloud environments, managing identity access, and conducting deep-dive forensic analysis to prevent recurrence of security incidents.

Key Responsibilities

Threat Detection & Incident Response

• Monitor security alerts 24/7 using advanced monitoring tools to identify suspicious activity.
• Lead the incident response lifecycle, from initial detection and containment to eradication and recovery.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for all security incidents to improve long-term resilience.

Vulnerability Management

• Perform regular vulnerability scans and coordinate patching schedules across diverse cloud environments.
• Execute internal penetration tests and coordinate with third-party auditors for annual compliance checks.
• Analyze system logs and network traffic to identify potential attack vectors.

Compliance & Governance

• Ensure all remote operations adhere to SOC2, GDPR, and HIPAA regulatory frameworks.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive security documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Conduct security awareness training for all remote staff to mitigate phishing and social engineering risks.

Requirements

Technical Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in a SOC (Security Operations Center) or as a Security Analyst.
• Certifications: CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH, or GIAC certifications are highly preferred.
• Tooling: Proficiency with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, LogRhythm), EDR tools (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne), and cloud security tools (AWS Security Hub, Azure Sentinel).
