About the Role

As a Remote Information Security Analyst at Nexus Cyber Defense, you aren’t just monitoring logs; you are the first line of defense in a sophisticated digital battlefield. In this role, you will be responsible for the continuous monitoring of our network traffic, identifying vulnerabilities, and implementing robust security protocols to prevent unauthorized access.

You will work closely with our DevOps and Engineering teams to ensure that security is baked into every layer of our product lifecycle. This is a high-impact position where your ability to spot a needle in a haystack can save the company from critical breaches. Key Responsibilities

Threat Detection & Response

• Monitor Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools to detect and respond to security incidents in real-time.
• Conduct deep-dive forensic analysis of security breaches to determine the root cause and prevent recurrence.
• Manage and tune Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS).

Vulnerability Management

• Perform regular vulnerability scans and penetration testing across all cloud endpoints.
• Collaborate with software developers to patch critical vulnerabilities and improve secure coding practices.
• Maintain an updated inventory of all hardware and software assets to ensure total visibility.

Compliance & Governance

• Ensure all remote operations adhere to SOC2, HIPAA, and GDPR standards.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive security documentation and incident response playbooks.
• Lead security awareness training for all remote employees to mitigate social engineering risks.

Requirements

We are looking for a technical expert who thrives in a remote setting and possesses a “security-first” mindset. To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Experience: 3-5 years of proven experience as a Security Analyst or in a similar cybersecurity role.
• Certification: CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ certification is highly preferred.
