About the Role

As an Information Security Analyst, you will be the first line of defense against cyber threats targeting our infrastructure. You will work closely with IT, development, and compliance teams to ensure that security controls are effective, up‑to‑date, and aligned with industry best practices. The position is 100% remote, allowing you to contribute from anywhere in Florida while maintaining a healthy work‑life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor security alerts from SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection platforms.
• Conduct thorough incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and forensic reporting.
• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation efforts with relevant teams.
• Assist in the design and implementation of security architecture for cloud and on‑premise environments.
• Stay current with emerging threats, attack vectors, and security technologies through ongoing research and training.
• Participate in tabletop exercises and help refine incident response playbooks.
• Provide security awareness training and guidance to employees across the organization.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 2‑3 years of hands‑on experience as a Security Analyst, SOC Analyst, or similar role.
• Proficiency with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, Elastic Security) and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, firewalls, VPNs).
• Experience with vulnerability scanners (Nessus, OpenVAS, Qualys) and patch management processes.
• Knowledge of operating system hardening for Windows and Linux environments.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST CSF, or CIS Controls.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple incidents under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for drafting reports and liaising with stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, GSEC, or CEH are a plus.
• Experience with cloud security platforms (AWS GuardDuty, Azure Security Center, Google Cloud Security Command Center).
• Basic scripting knowledge (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automating repetitive tasks.
• Understanding of threat intelligence feeds and how to operationalize IOCs.
• Experience contributing to security awareness programs or phishing simulation campaigns.
