Join a mission‑driven nonprofit that empowers communities nationwide. As a Remote Fundraising Officer, you’ll design and execute high‑impact campaigns that turn donor passion into lasting change — all from the comfort of your home office.

About the Role

We are seeking a strategic, data‑savvy Fundraising Officer to lead our annual giving, major gifts, and digital fundraising programs. You will collaborate with program staff, the communications team, and the executive leadership to grow revenue streams, deepen donor relationships, and amplify our story across multiple channels. This fully remote position offers the autonomy to shape fundraising strategy while staying connected through weekly virtual stand‑ups, quarterly retreats, and a collaborative Slack community.

Key Responsibilities

Campaign Development & Execution

  • Design integrated fundraising campaigns (direct mail, email, social, peer‑to‑peer) that meet or exceed annual revenue targets.
  • Manage the donor lifecycle from acquisition to stewardship, ensuring timely acknowledgments and impact reporting.

Major Gifts & Grants

  • Identify, qualify, and cultivate a portfolio of 30–50 major donor prospects; coordinate personalized solicitations and site visits (virtual or in‑person).
  • Research and write compelling grant proposals aligned with program priorities; maintain a calendar of deadlines and reporting requirements.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Leverage CRM (e.g., Bloomerang, Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud) to segment donors, track engagement metrics, and forecast revenue.
  • Produce monthly dashboards for leadership, highlighting KPI trends, retention rates, and ROI per channel.

Collaboration & Innovation

  • Partner with marketing to craft storytelling assets — videos, impact reports, donor testimonials — that resonate across audiences.
  • Test emerging fundraising technologies (AI‑driven donor scoring, text‑to‑give, virtual events) and pilot successful tools organization‑wide.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or related field.
  • 3+ years of progressive fundraising experience, with at least 1 year in a remote or hybrid environment.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding annual revenue goals of $500K+.
  • Expertise in CRM platforms (Bloomerang, Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce) and email marketing tools (Mailchimp, HubSpot).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex program outcomes into donor‑centric narratives.

Preferred

  • CFRE certification or equivalent professional credential.
  • Experience with planned giving, corporate partnerships, or capital campaigns.
  • Fluency in Spanish or another language relevant to our donor base.

Salary Range

$55,000 – $75,000 USD per year, commensurate with experience and geographic cost‑of‑living adjustments.

Benefits & Perks

  • 100% remote work with a $1,200 annual home‑office stipend.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance (employer pays 90%).
  • Generous 401(k) match up to 4%.
  • 15 days paid vacation + 10 paid holidays + 5 wellness days.
  • Professional development budget ($2,000/year) for conferences, courses, and certifications.
  • Quarterly virtual team‑building events and an annual in‑person retreat (travel covered).

Culture & Values

Our organization thrives on transparency, equity, and continuous learning. We celebrate diverse perspectives, encourage experimentation, and measure success by the tangible difference we make in the lives of the communities we serve. As a remote team, we rely on trust, clear communication, and shared accountability — values that guide every donor interaction and internal decision.

How to Succeed in This Role

  • Set ambitious yet realistic quarterly fundraising targets and track progress weekly.
  • Build a personal donor stewardship calendar; prioritize high‑touch touches for top prospects.
  • Stay current on nonprofit fundraising trends through webinars, peer networks, and industry publications.
  • Document processes and share playbooks in our knowledge base to scale best practices across the team.
