About the Role

As a Remote Fire Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering fire safety engineering services across commercial, industrial, and residential sectors. You’ll collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and project managers via video conference, shared BIM platforms, and cloud‑based calculation tools. Your work will directly influence the safety and compliance of high‑profile developments in North America, Europe, and Asia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform fire modelling, smoke control analysis, and performance‑based design calculations using software such as PyroSim, FDS, and Pathfinder.
  • Prepare fire safety reports, calculations, and construction documents that meet NFPA, IBC, and local code requirements.
  • Conduct virtual site reviews and coordinate with contractors to ensure design intent is executed correctly.
  • Stay current with evolving fire codes, standards, and emerging technologies; share insights with the global team.
  • Mentor junior engineers through remote training sessions and code‑review webinars.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline (Master’s preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification (e.g., CFE, CFPE) is highly desirable.
  • Minimum 3‑5 years of hands‑on fire engineering experience on multi‑disciplinary projects.
  • Proficiency with fire analysis tools (e.g., Fire Dynamics Simulator, PyroSim, Safe Design) and BIM software (Revit, Navisworks).
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA 13, NFPA 72, IBC, IFC, and international fire safety codes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex technical concepts in clear, concise reports.
  • Self‑motivated, highly organized, and comfortable managing multiple remote projects simultaneously.
  • Reliable high‑speed internet connection and a dedicated home office setup.

Benefits & Perks

  • Fully remote work – no commuting, flexible hours across time zones.
  • Competitive salary with annual performance bonuses.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage for you and eligible dependents.
  • 401(k) plan with employer match.
  • Generous paid time off, including holidays, sick days, and a “mental health” day each quarter.
  • Professional development stipend for certifications, webinars, and conferences.
  • State‑of‑the‑art virtual collaboration tools and a technology allowance for home‑office equipment.
  • Inclusive, globally diverse team culture with regular virtual coffee chats, team‑building events, and mentorship programs.
