About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Review architectural and structural drawings to verify compliance with NFPA 101, NFPA 5000, International Building Code (IBC), and local fire authority requirements.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, calculation sheets, and code compliance matrices for stakeholder presentations and permit submissions.
• Consult with architects, mechanical engineers, contractors, and insurance representatives to integrate fire safety seamlessly into project timelines and budgets.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education & Licensure

A bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field is required. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred, or active eligibility for PE licensure within the first year of employment. Additional certifications such as Certified Fire Protection Engineer (CFPE) or membership in the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) are strong advantages.

Professional Experience

Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in fire protection engineering, fire safety consulting, or a related discipline within the construction or insurance industries. Technical Skills

Salary & Compensation

We offer a competitive and transparent salary range of $45,000 – $65,000 USD per year, determined by your experience level, educational background, and demonstrated expertise in fire protection engineering. This range reflects current market standards for remote fire engineering roles across the United States.
