Join a forward-thinking engineering firm where you can apply your expertise in fire protection and life safety from the comfort of your own home. We are seeking a detail-oriented Fire Engineer to design cutting-edge suppression systems and ensure global compliance standards are met without the commute.

About the Role

As a Remote Fire Engineer, you will be at the forefront of safeguarding lives and assets. This isn’t just about checking boxes; it’s about innovative problem-solving. You will be responsible for the design, analysis, and specification of fire protection systems, including automatic sprinklers, standpipes, and fire alarm systems, for high-profile commercial and industrial projects.

Working remotely allows you to focus deeply on complex hydraulic calculations and CAD layouts while collaborating with our multidisciplinary team via cloud-based BIM software. You will act as the primary technical lead for fire safety strategies, ensuring every blueprint is optimized for both safety and cost-efficiency.

Salary Range

$85,000 – $125,000 USD/year (Depending on experience and certifications)

Key Responsibilities

System Design & Engineering

  • Develop comprehensive fire protection plans using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Perform complex hydraulic calculations to ensure system efficacy.
  • Create detailed technical specifications for fire pumps, sprinklers, and detection systems.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all designs strictly adhere to NFPA standards, IBC, and local building codes.
  • Conduct remote peer reviews of engineering drawings to maintain zero-error benchmarks.
  • Coordinate with AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) to secure project approvals.

Collaboration & Strategy

  • Participate in virtual design coordination meetings with architects and MEP engineers.
  • Provide expert technical guidance on fire risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
  • Stay updated on the latest fire safety technologies and integrate them into project workflows.

Requirements

We are looking for a professional who blends technical mastery with the discipline required for remote work. To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification: PE (Professional Engineer) license is highly preferred. NICET certification in Fire Protection and Life Safety is a significant plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in fire protection design.
  • Software Proficiency: Expert-level skills in AutoCAD, Revit, and hydraulic calculation software (such as HASS or SprinkCAD).
  • Location: Must be a legal resident of Texas to meet specific state licensing and project coordination requirements.
  • Mindset: A self-starter capable of managing deadlines independently in a 100% remote environment.

Benefits of Joining Our Team
