About the Role

We’re seeking a highly skilled Remote Fire Engineer to join our dynamic team of safety professionals. In this fully remote position, you’ll design, implement, and evaluate fire protection systems for diverse building types across the country. You’ll collaborate with architects, construction teams, and safety officials to ensure compliance with fire codes while developing innovative solutions that enhance building safety and save lives.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze building designs and identify potential fire hazards through advanced modeling techniques
• Develop comprehensive fire protection strategies and system designs for various occupancies
• Prepare detailed technical reports, specifications, and documentation for regulatory compliance
• Review and approve fire safety plans for construction and renovation projects
• Stay current with evolving fire codes, NFPA standards, and technological advancements
• Provide expert consultation on fire protection systems to clients and stakeholders
• Utilize specialized software for fire modeling, risk assessment, and performance-based design

Requirements

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fire protection engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months
• Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) or Fire Protection Engineer (FPFPE) certification
• Experience with remote work and virtual collaboration tools

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in fire modeling software (e.g., Pyrosim, FDS, CFAST, Pathfinder)
• Deep knowledge of NFPA codes and local fire regulations
• Familiarity with building codes and integrated fire alarm systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration
