About the Role

In this role, you will serve as the financial gatekeeper for upcoming projects, translating architectural drawings and specifications into accurate cost forecasts. You’ll work closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to develop bids that are both competitive and financially sound.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and contracts to determine scope of work.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and calculate material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
• Utilize estimating software (e.g., ProEst, Sage Estimating, Bluebeam) to create detailed bid packages.
• Assess risks and opportunities, adjusting estimates to reflect market conditions and contingencies.
• Prepare and present bid summaries to senior management and clients.
• Maintain historical cost databases and continuously refine estimating methodologies.
• Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing and verify availability.
• Support post‑bid analysis to improve future estimating accuracy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 3‑5 years of experience as a construction estimator, preferably in commercial or residential sectors.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables).
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills for presenting complex data to technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and capable of managing multiple deadlines in a remote environment.
