About the Role

As a Remote Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in our project development lifecycle. You’ll be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects, working closely with clients, architects, and subcontractors to ensure accuracy and competitiveness. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other project documents to prepare accurate quantity takeoffs.
• Develop detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Conduct research to obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring competitive pricing.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to refine estimates and address potential risks.
• Utilize estimating software (e.g., ProEst, PlanSwift, Bluebeam) to streamline the estimation process.
• Maintain a database of historical cost information to improve future estimates.
• Prepare and present bid proposals to clients, highlighting value-engineered options when appropriate.
• Review and verify the accuracy of subcontractor bids and supplier quotes.
• Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and regulatory changes that impact project budgets.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an estimator in the construction industry, with a strong portfolio of completed estimates.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities, both written and verbal.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Self-starter with excellent time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home office space.

Salary Range

Based on industry standards and the role’s requirements, the annual salary for this Remote Estimator position typically ranges from $50,000 to $70,000 USD, depending on experience and qualifications.
