Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

Develop comprehensive project scopes, detailed schedules, and accurate cost estimates. Perform constructability reviews, coordinate electrical design deliverables, and ensure all work packages are ready for field implementation. You will also track change orders, update baselines, and maintain a living project schedule that reflects real‑time progress.

Team Leadership & Coordination

Lead cross‑functional groups that include electrical engineers, designers, subcontractors, procurement specialists, and client representatives. Facilitate weekly technical meetings, prepare concise status reports, and act as the escalation point for any design or construction issues. Your role will also involve mentoring junior project staff and fostering a culture of accountability.

Budget & Financial Management

Monitor all project expenditures against the approved budget, forecast cash flow, and prepare monthly financial dashboards for senior leadership. You will negotiate vendor contracts, manage invoicing, and ensure that any scope changes are properly documented and financially approved before work begins.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

Guarantee that every electrical installation complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA regulations, and client‑specific quality standards. Conduct virtual site inspections, review test reports, and maintain thorough documentation for audits and handover packages. You will also coordinate with third‑party inspectors to secure necessary approvals.

Risk Management & Issue Resolution

Identify potential technical, schedule, and cost risks early in the project lifecycle. Develop mitigation strategies, maintain a risk register, and lead issue‑resolution workshops to keep projects moving forward. When challenges arise, you will drive root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions swiftly.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related discipline; a Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly advantageous.
• At least five years of progressive experience managing electrical projects for utility‑scale renewable energy, commercial, or industrial clients.
• Demonstrated success delivering projects valued between $5 million and $50 million, consistently meeting schedule, budget, and quality targets.
• Familiarity with Texas‑specific permitting processes, ERCOT interconnection requirements, and local utility standards.

Technical Skills

• Expert level proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or Smartsheet.
• Strong grasp of electrical design fundamentals, power distribution systems, protective relaying, and control architecture.
• Competence in reviewing electrical drawings created in AutoCAD, Revit, or ETAP; ability to spot design conflicts and suggest practical solutions.
• Experience with contract administration, change order management, and Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques.
• Knowledge of safety standards including NFPA 70E, OSHA 1926, and ISO 45001 as they apply to electrical construction.
