Join a forward‑thinking engineering team that creates cutting‑edge electrical systems for renewable energy, infrastructure, and industrial projects. As a Remote Electrical Designer, you’ll translate complex concepts into precise schematics, collaborate with multidisciplinary experts, and see your designs power real‑world solutions—all from the comfort of your home office.

About the Role

In this position you will be responsible for developing detailed electrical designs, performing load calculations, and ensuring compliance with industry standards such as NEC, IEC, and IEEE. You’ll work closely with project managers, field engineers, and clients to deliver designs that are both innovative and manufacturable, while maintaining strict adherence to schedule and budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create single‑line diagrams, wiring layouts, and panel schematics using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar tools.
  • Perform short‑circuit, voltage drop, and arc‑flash analyses to validate design integrity.
  • Coordinate with mechanical and civil disciplines to resolve clashes and optimize routing.
  • Prepare bills of materials, specification sheets, and installation instructions for fabrication teams.
  • Review vendor submittals and provide technical support during procurement and construction phases.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of emerging technologies, including smart grid components and energy storage systems.
  • Participate in design reviews, offering constructive feedback to improve safety, efficiency, and cost‑effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical design for power distribution, lighting, or control systems.
  • Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical, or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of NEC, IEC, and IEEE standards applicable to low‑ and medium‑voltage systems.
  • Ability to perform load calculations, fault analysis, and coordination studies.
  • Excellent communication skills and the capability to work autonomously in a remote environment.
  • U.S. work authorization; candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure.
  • Experience with renewable energy projects (solar, wind, battery storage).
  • Familiarity with BIM tools such as Revit MEP for multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming and industrial control panel design.
  • Background in utility interconnection studies and inter‑connection agreements.

Salary Range

Based on industry benchmarks and the level of expertise required, the compensation for this role is estimated at $68,000 – $92,000 USD per year. Final offers are commensurate with experience, certifications, and the specific scope of responsibilities.

Benefits

  • 100% remote work – flexible hours with core collaboration windows.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision plans.
  • 401(k) with company matching.
  • Generous paid time off and company‑observed holidays.
  • Annual professional development stipend for certifications, courses, and conferences.
  • Employee assistance program and wellness resources.
  • Latest software licenses and hardware stipend for home office setup.
