Join a forward‑thinking engineering team that delivers cutting‑edge electrical designs for renewable energy, commercial infrastructure, and smart‑grid projects—all from the comfort of your home office. This fully remote role offers competitive pay, flexible scheduling, and the chance to shape sustainable power solutions nationwide.

About the Role

As a Remote Electrical Designer, you will create detailed schematics, single‑line diagrams, and panel layouts using industry‑standard CAD tools. You’ll collaborate with project managers, field engineers, and clients to translate conceptual requirements into code‑compliant, cost‑effective designs. The position spans the full project lifecycle—from preliminary load calculations through construction‑document delivery—ensuring every system meets NEC, IEEE, and local utility standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop electrical distribution, lighting, and control system designs for commercial, industrial, and renewable projects.
  • Prepare and review construction documents, including panel schedules, conduit routing, and equipment specifications.
  • Perform load analysis, short‑circuit studies, and voltage drop calculations using ETAP, SKM, or equivalent software.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, structural, and civil teams to resolve clashes and optimize space allocation.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date design libraries, standard details, and company templates.
  • Provide remote support during construction administration, answering RFIs and reviewing submittals.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP, or EPLAN.
  • Experience with power system analysis tools (ETAP, SKM PowerTools, EasyPower).
  • Strong knowledge of NEC 2023, IEEE 1584, and relevant local codes.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy systems (solar PV, battery storage, EV charging).

Soft Skills & Work Habits

  • Excellent written and verbal communication for remote collaboration.
  • Self‑motivated with proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Detail‑oriented mindset with a commitment to quality assurance.

Salary Range

Estimated annual compensation: $85,000 – $115,000 USD/year, commensurate with experience, certifications, and geographic cost‑of‑living adjustments.
