About the Role

We are seeking an Electrical Designer to support the development of detailed electrical systems from concept through construction documentation. This role is ideal for a technically focused professional who enjoys solving design challenges, maintaining high-quality standards, and contributing to projects with real-world impact.

You will work closely with electrical engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary design teams to produce clear deliverables and help projects progress efficiently from planning to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and revise electrical plans, schematics, riser diagrams, panel schedules, and equipment layouts.
• Develop single-line diagrams, circuit layouts, grounding plans, and lighting documentation.
• Apply relevant codes, design standards, and project specifications to every deliverable.
• Perform load calculations and coordinate electrical requirements with mechanical, architectural, and structural disciplines.
• Prepare takeoffs, material lists, and design notes that support accurate estimating and construction.
• Review drawings for technical accuracy, consistency, and compliance before issue.
• Respond to design questions and incorporate stakeholder feedback into coordinated drawings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering technology, electrical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least four years of experience in electrical design for commercial, industrial, infrastructure, or energy-related projects.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with Revit, Bluebeam, or similar design and documentation tools.
• Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70, and standard electrical design practices.
• Ability to interpret engineering concepts and produce organized, constructible technical drawings.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage deadlines while working independently.
• Access to a reliable computer, high-speed internet connection, and secure remote-work setup.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ETAP, SKM, TracePro, or similar electrical analysis software.
• Knowledge of low-voltage systems, controls, renewable energy, or utility infrastructure.
• Experience supporting projects through design review, permitting, and construction phases.
• Professional engineering certification or eligibility for one in a U.S. state or territory.
