Join a forward‑thinking engineering team that designs innovative electrical systems for renewable energy, industrial automation, and smart infrastructure. This fully remote position offers competitive pay, flexible hours, and the chance to work on cutting‑edge projects from anywhere in the world. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary experts to turn concepts into reliable, efficient designs that power tomorrow’s technology.

About the Role

As an Electrical Designer, you will create detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout plans for a variety of electrical systems. Your work will support product development, plant upgrades, and field installations, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as NEC, IEC, and ISO. You’ll report to a senior design lead and partner closely with project managers, field engineers, and manufacturing teams to deliver solutions that are both technically sound and cost‑effective.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop single‑line diagrams, panel layouts, and cable schedules using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar tools.
  • Perform load calculations, short‑circuit analysis, and voltage drop studies to verify system performance.
  • Select appropriate components (breakers, transformers, motors, drives) based on application requirements and cost considerations.
  • Generate bills of materials (BOMs) and support procurement by providing clear specifications.
  • Review designs for code compliance, safety, and manufacturability; incorporate feedback from reviewers.
  • Maintain version‑controlled design documentation and assist in creating installation and maintenance manuals.
  • Participate in design reviews, troubleshoot field issues, and provide technical support during commissioning.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical design for power distribution, control systems, or industrial equipment.
  • Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical, or equivalent).
  • Solid understanding of NEC, IEC, and relevant safety standards.

Technical Skills

  • Ability to perform electrical calculations (load, fault, voltage drop) manually or with software tools.
  • Experience reading and creating P&IDs, loop diagrams, and wiring schematics.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, motor control centers, and renewable energy inverters.
  • Strong communication skills; capable of conveying technical information to non‑engineering stakeholders.
  • Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working independently in a remote setting.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range: $68,000 – $92,000 USD per year, based on experience and location.
  • Fully remote work arrangement – design from your home office or any preferred location.
  • Flexible core hours with asynchronous collaboration options.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance plans.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Annual professional development stipend for certifications (e.g., PE, CAD specialist).
  • Paid time off, holidays, and parental leave.
  • Access to a global network of engineers and regular virtual tech talks.
