Key Responsibilities

• Create and revise electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout plans using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Perform load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and short-circuit studies to ensure system reliability.
• Develop as-built drawings and document design changes throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other disciplines to integrate electrical systems seamlessly.
• Conduct site visits (if required) to gather information and verify existing conditions (travel may be minimal).
• Prepare and submit permit packages to local authorities having jurisdiction.
• Assist in the selection of electrical components and materials based on project specifications and budget.
• Maintain organized project files and documentation in compliance with company standards.
• Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Stay current with industry codes such as NEC, IBC, and NFPA 70E.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you should possess a strong foundation in electrical design principles and practical experience with CAD tools. We value clear communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical design, drafting, or a similar role.
• Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong understanding of electrical theory, circuitry, and power distribution.
• Familiarity with building information modeling (BIM) processes.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective remote collaboration.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and construction documents.
• Self-motivated with strong time-management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Must have a dedicated workspace and reliable internet connection.
• Professional engineering (PE) license or EIT certification is a plus.

Salary Range

Based on industry standards and experience levels, the salary for this position is estimated at $55,000 – $75,000 USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined by your qualifications, skills, and experience. Salary is commensurate with experience and may include performance bonuses and profit sharing.
