Seeking a talented Electrical Designer to join a dynamic, fully remote team where your expertise in CAD and electrical systems will directly impact complex industrial and commercial projects. Enjoy a flexible work environment, competitive compensation, and the chance to collaborate with leading engineers on innovative designs that power modern infrastructure.

About the Role

In this fully remote position, you will be the architectural and engineering backbone for our project teams. You will transform conceptual electrical plans into precise, constructible drawings and models using advanced CAD and BIM software. Your work will span various sectors, including manufacturing, utilities, and commercial buildings, ensuring designs meet stringent safety codes, client specifications, and sustainability goals. This is a high-impact role for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative, technology-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed electrical construction drawings, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and fire alarm systems.
  • Create and modify P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), single-line diagrams, and panel schedules.
  • Produce 3D models and 2D drafts using AutoCAD Electrical, Revit, or similar BIM platforms.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to interpret design concepts and technical specifications.
  • Perform design calculations, voltage drop analysis, and conduit fill checks to ensure code compliance (NEC, NFPA 70E).
  • Maintain drawing archives and manage revision control in a cloud-based document management system.
  • Support field personnel during construction by providing clarification drawings and as-built markups.

Requirements

We are looking for a proactive problem-solver with a strong foundation in electrical design principles and a passion for precision. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, communicative, and adept at managing multiple projects in a remote setting.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Associate’s degree or technical certificate in Electrical Design, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in electrical design/drafting, preferably in industrial, commercial, or facilities engineering.
  • Expert proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and Revit MEP (or similar BIM software).
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Strong understanding of power systems, lighting design, and construction documentation practices.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home office setup.

Salary Range

Based on industry standards for remote Electrical Designers in the United States, the annual salary for this full-time position typically ranges from $55,000 to $85,000 USD, depending on experience, specific technical skills, and project complexity. This range includes a comprehensive benefits package.
