About the Role

Our client is a rapidly growing renewable‑energy consultancy seeking a talented Electrical Designer to support the planning and execution of utility‑scale solar and wind farms. You will translate project specifications into detailed schematics, perform load calculations, and ensure designs meet NEC, IEC, and local utility standards. This fully remote position allows you to contribute to sustainable infrastructure while maintaining a healthy work‑life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop single‑line diagrams, wiring layouts, and control schematics for solar PV and wind turbine systems.
• Perform short‑circuit, voltage drop, and arc‑flash analyses using ETAP, SKM, or similar software.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, and mechanical teams to integrate electrical designs into overall project layouts.
• Prepare design packages for permitting, procurement, and construction, including bill of materials and cost estimates.
• Review vendor submittals and provide technical support during fabrication and field installation.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of industry codes (NEC 2023, IEC 61850, IEEE 1547) and emerging technologies.
• Participate in design reviews, offering constructive feedback to improve efficiency and safety.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical design for power generation, preferably renewable energy.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, Revit, and at least one power‑system analysis tool (ETAP, SKM, DIgSILENT).

Technical Skills

• Strong grasp of medium‑ and low‑voltage distribution, protective relaying, and grounding systems.
• Ability to interpret project specifications, single‑line diagrams, and construction drawings.
• Familiarity with NEC, IEC, and local utility interconnection standards.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with cross‑functional teams and clients.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure.
• Experience with energy storage systems (BESS) and microgrid controls.
• Knowledge of PVSyst, HOMER, or similar energy‑yield modeling software.
