About the Role

As an Electrical Designer, you will translate conceptual ideas into detailed schematics, layouts, and documentation for a variety of power distribution and control systems. You’ll collaborate closely with project engineers, field technicians, and clients to ensure designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards. The role demands a blend of technical expertise, creativity, and strong communication skills, all delivered from your home office.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop single‑line diagrams, wiring schematics, and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar CAD tools.
• Perform load calculations, short‑circuit analysis, and voltage drop studies to validate design integrity.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs), specification sheets, and installation instructions for manufacturing and field teams.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve design conflicts and incorporate feedback from stakeholder reviews.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of NEC, IEC, IEEE, and local code requirements, ensuring all designs comply.
• Support project documentation reviews, change order processes, and as‑built drawing updates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical design for power distribution, control systems, or renewable energy projects.
• Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar) and familiarity with simulation tools such as ETAP or SKM PowerTools.
• Strong understanding of electrical codes (NEC, IEC, IEEE) and standards relevant to commercial and industrial applications.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot complex design issues.
• Effective written and verbal communication; capable of presenting technical information to non‑technical audiences.
• Self‑motivated, able to manage multiple priorities in a remote work environment with minimal supervision.
