Join a forward‑thinking engineering team that creates innovative electrical systems for renewable energy, smart grids, and industrial automation. This fully remote position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere in the U.S. while contributing to projects that power the future.
About the Role
As an Electrical Designer, you will translate conceptual ideas into detailed schematics, layouts, and documentation for a variety of power distribution and control systems. You’ll collaborate closely with project engineers, field technicians, and clients to ensure designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards. The role demands a blend of technical expertise, creativity, and strong communication skills, all delivered from your home office.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop single‑line diagrams, wiring schematics, and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar CAD tools.
- Perform load calculations, short‑circuit analysis, and voltage drop studies to validate design integrity.
- Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs), specification sheets, and installation instructions for manufacturing and field teams.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve design conflicts and incorporate feedback from stakeholder reviews.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of NEC, IEC, IEEE, and local code requirements, ensuring all designs comply.
- Support project documentation reviews, change order processes, and as‑built drawing updates.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical design for power distribution, control systems, or renewable energy projects.
- Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar) and familiarity with simulation tools such as ETAP or SKM PowerTools.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes (NEC, IEC, IEEE) and standards relevant to commercial and industrial applications.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot complex design issues.
- Effective written and verbal communication; capable of presenting technical information to non‑technical audiences.
- Self‑motivated, able to manage multiple priorities in a remote work environment with minimal supervision.
Benefits
- Competitive salary range: $68,000 – $92,000 USD per year, based on experience and qualifications.
- Fully remote work schedule – no commute, flexible hours, and the ability to design your ideal workspace.
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans.
- 401(k) retirement plan with company matching.
- Generous paid time off, holidays, and parental leave policies.
- Annual professional development stipend for certifications, courses, or conference attendance.
- Latest hardware and software provided (high‑performance laptop, dual monitors, CAD licenses).
- Virtual team‑building events, wellness programs, and an inclusive company culture.
What We Offer
