About the Role

We are seeking a talented Electrical Designer to produce detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and panel layouts for commercial, industrial, and renewable energy projects. Working entirely remotely, you will collaborate with licensed engineers, project managers, and clients through cloud-based design platforms to deliver code-compliant, high-quality designs. Key Responsibilities

• Develop single-line diagrams, control wiring diagrams, and PLC layouts using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or Revit.
• Coordinate with mechanical, process, and controls teams to ensure integrated system designs that meet client specs.
• Perform load calculations, short-circuit analysis, arc-flash studies, and NEC compliance verification.
• Maintain organized documentation and revise drawings based on peer review and client feedback.
• Participate in virtual design reviews, kickoff meetings, and provide clear technical input via video conference.
• Support estimation teams by providing takeoffs and bill of materials for electrical packages.

Requirements

To succeed in this remote role, you should meet the following baseline qualifications:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of professional experience as an Electrical Designer, Drafter, or similar engineering support role.
• Proficiency in at least one major electrical CAD platform (AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, EPLAN).
• Strong understanding of NEC, IEEE standards, and industrial power distribution principles.
• Excellent written communication skills for asynchronous remote collaboration across time zones.

Salary Range

Based on current industry standards for remote electrical design professionals in the United States and international remote benchmarks, we offer an estimated salary of $65,000 – $90,000 USD/year, commensurate with experience and skill set. Outstanding contributors may also be eligible for performance bonuses and annual reviews that scale beyond this range.
