About the Role

NovaTech Solutions is seeking a dedicated Datacenter Technician to support and maintain our expansive network of servers, storage arrays, and networking equipment across multiple data center locations. Although the position is 100% remote, the technician will collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless uptime and optimal performance. The role blends technical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and documentation in a fast‑paced, mission‑critical environment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform hardware upgrades, replacements, and repairs on servers, storage units, and networking devices. Monitor system health using industry‑standard tools and respond promptly to alerts. Conduct routine preventive maintenance tasks, including cable management, rack organization, and environmental checks. Maintain accurate logs of all installations, configurations, and incidents. Assist the security team with physical and logical security audits. Provide on‑call support for critical incidents during designated shifts.

Requirements

Proven experience of at least 2 years in a datacenter or server farm environment. Strong knowledge of server hardware (e.g., Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant, Supermicro), networking protocols, and storage technologies. Proficiency with operating systems such as Linux and Windows Server, as well as virtualization platforms like VMware and Hyper‑V. Excellent troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting. Valid certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Cisco CCNA are a plus.

Education and Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate a solid track record of remote collaboration and self‑management. Experience with automation scripts (PowerShell, Bash) for routine tasks is advantageous.
