Are you a tech-savvy problem-solver ready to support the backbone of the internet from the comfort of your home office? This is your chance to join a dynamic, fully remote team where your skills in hardware, networking, and system maintenance will directly impact global digital operations. Enjoy a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and the ultimate flexibility of a permanent work-from-home career.

About the Role

As a Remote Datacenter Technician with our company, you are the essential frontline support for our extensive network of enterprise data centers. You will be responsible for the health, maintenance, and troubleshooting of server hardware, storage arrays, and networking equipment—all while collaborating with a distributed team of IT professionals. Your day-to-day will involve remote diagnostics, coordinating with on-site personnel for hands-on tasks, managing inventory, and ensuring 99.9% uptime for our clients’ critical systems. This is not a typical IT helpdesk role; it’s a specialized, high-impact position where your technical judgment directly safeguards data and applications for businesses worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform remote hardware diagnostics and troubleshooting for servers, racks, and network devices.
  • Coordinate and guide on-site technicians through complex installations, replacements, and repairs.
  • Monitor data center environmental systems (power, cooling) via remote management tools.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and asset records for all hardware components.
  • Execute scheduled maintenance and firmware updates during approved change windows.
  • Document all technical issues, resolutions, and procedures in our knowledge base.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for critical infrastructure alerts.

Requirements

We are looking for a meticulous and proactive individual with a passion for hardware and a talent for remote problem-solving. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, possesses excellent communication skills, and thrives in a structured, process-oriented environment.

Essential Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in a data center, server room, or hardware-intensive IT environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of server hardware (Dell, HP, Supermicro), enterprise storage, and networking basics (switches, routers).
  • Proficiency with remote management tools (iDRAC, iLO, IPMI, SSH).
  • Understanding of power distribution units (PDUs), uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and rack cabling standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear remote coordination.
  • CompTIA A+, Server+, Network+, or equivalent hands-on experience is required.

Salary & Benefits

We offer a highly competitive total compensation package designed for a modern remote workforce.

Salary Range

$52,000 – $75,000 USD per year (commensurate with experience). This range reflects the specialized nature of the role and the cost-of-living adjustments for our remote employees across the United States.

Comprehensive Benefits Package

  • Health & Wellness: 100% company-paid premiums for medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees; generous family coverage options.
  • Financial Security: 401(k) plan with a 4% company match; basic life and AD&D insurance.
  • Time Off: Unlimited paid vacation (with a minimum required usage); 12 paid company holidays; paid sick leave.
  • Remote Work Stipend: Monthly allowance to support your home office setup and internet costs.
  • Growth & Development: Annual budget for technical certifications and training; clear career progression paths into senior technician or operations roles.
  • Work-Life Integration: Flexible core working hours; a supportive, results-oriented culture that values output over online presence.
