About the Role

As a Remote Datacenter Technician, you are the backbone of our digital operations. While you won’t be climbing racks in a warehouse, you will be managing our remote monitoring platforms, troubleshooting virtual infrastructure, and coordinating with local vendors to ensure physical assets remain in peak condition. This is a hybrid of IT support and facility coordination, executed entirely from the comfort of your home.

This position bridges the gap between physical hardware and digital oversight. You will utilize advanced remote management software to monitor temperature controls, power consumption, and network latency across our distributed datacenter footprint. Your daily tasks involve reviewing automated alerts, diagnosing root causes for hardware failures, and scheduling maintenance windows with third-party vendors. We are looking for someone who can think like an engineer but communicate like a project manager.

You will act as the first line of defense against infrastructure failures. When an alert fires at 3 AM, you are the person who investigates, isolates the issue, and determines if it requires a physical dispatch or a software patch. You will maintain detailed documentation of all hardware assets, ensuring our asset management database is always accurate. This role requires a unique blend of technical skill and procedural discipline to maintain the high standards our clients expect.

Requirements

• 3+ years experience in IT infrastructure, datacenter operations, or network administration.
• Proficiency in monitoring tools like Nagios, Zabbix, or Datadog.
• Strong understanding of server hardware (servers, switches, storage arrays).
• Ability to work independently and manage time zones effectively.
• Excellent communication skills for vendor management.
• Comfort working in a 100% remote environment with minimal supervision.

Strong analytical skills are essential. You must be able to parse through logs, correlate data points, and identify trends before they become outages. Candidates with experience in colocation environments or managed service providers are highly encouraged to apply. Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure is a plus, but not mandatory.
