About the Role

As a Remote Datacenter Technician, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and deploying physical and virtual infrastructure across multiple data center facilities. Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor data center infrastructure, including servers, storage arrays, and networking equipment, using industry-standard remote management platforms.
  • Perform remote hardware diagnostics, firmware updates, and system reboots to resolve outages and performance issues.
  • Coordinate with on-site remote hands technicians for physical interventions, including hardware swaps, cabling, and rack installations.
  • Respond to incident alerts, troubleshoot system failures, and execute recovery procedures within strict SLA timelines.
  • Document all maintenance activities, configuration changes, and incident resolutions in the company’s IT service management system.
  • Collaborate with network engineers, systems administrators, and DevOps teams to support cloud migrations and infrastructure expansion projects.
  • Maintain inventory tracking and asset management for data center hardware components.

  • Experience with monitoring and management tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, or IPMI.
  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V) and basic cloud concepts (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis under pressure.

Preferred Certifications

  • CompTIA Server+ or CompTIA Network+
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP-DCV)
