About the Role

In this position you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of servers, networking gear, and power systems within our remote‑managed datacenters. While the role is fully remote, you will coordinate closely with on‑site staff via video conferencing, ticketing systems, and secure remote access tools, guaranteeing seamless service delivery across multiple geographic locations.

Technical Operations

• Deploy and configure rack‑mounted servers, storage arrays, and networking switches according to engineering specifications.
• Conduct routine health checks, firmware updates, and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware failures, including power distribution unit (PDU) issues, cooling system malfunctions, and network connectivity problems.
• Document all work performed in the ticketing system, providing clear root‑cause analyses and resolution steps.

Monitoring & Support

• Monitor environmental controls (temperature, humidity, airflow) and respond to alarms promptly.
• Participate in on‑call rotation for after‑hours incident response, ensuring 24/7 coverage.
• Collaborate with network engineers and system administrators to troubleshoot cross‑functional issues.
• Assist in the rollout of new hardware and software upgrades across the datacenter fleet.

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of hands‑on experience in datacenter operations or a related technical field.
• Proven track record of installing, configuring, and maintaining server hardware and networking equipment.
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Cisco CCNA are highly desirable.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency with Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V).
• Strong understanding of power and cooling systems, UPS management, and rack layout best practices.
