Join a world-leading infrastructure team as a Remote Datacenter Technician, managing critical server environments from the comfort of your home. We are looking for a technical powerhouse to ensure 99.99% uptime and seamless hardware orchestration for our Texas-based operations.

About the Role

Are you a hardware enthusiast with a passion for high-availability systems? As a Remote Datacenter Technician, you will serve as the primary architect of stability for our regional server clusters. Unlike traditional roles that require 24/7 physical presence, this position leverages advanced remote management tools, Out-of-Band (OOB) access, and a network of on-site hands to maintain a massive footprint of compute and storage resources.

You will be the bridge between software-defined networking and physical hardware. Your day-to-day involves monitoring telemetry, diagnosing hardware failures via remote consoles, coordinating rack deployments, and optimizing power and cooling efficiency. This is a high-impact role where your technical precision directly affects the performance of millions of end-users.

Salary Range

$65,000 – $95,000 USD/year (Depending on experience and certifications)

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Orchestration

  • Remotely monitor server health and perform proactive diagnostics to prevent downtime.
  • Coordinate with on-site facility staff to execute hardware swaps, cabling, and rack installations.
  • Manage BIOS updates, firmware patches, and OS deployments across a distributed fleet of servers.

Technical Troubleshooting

  • Analyze system logs and telemetry data to identify bottlenecks or hardware degradation.
  • Utilize IPMI, iDRAC, or ILO interfaces to perform remote resets and configuration changes.
  • Collaborate with Network Engineers to resolve connectivity issues and optimize traffic flow.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Maintain meticulous digital records of asset movements and hardware lifecycles.
  • Ensure all remote operations adhere to strict security protocols and industry compliance standards.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for remote hardware remediation.

Requirements

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Residency: Must be a legal resident of Texas to comply with regional operational requirements.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in datacenter operations, server administration, or systems engineering.
  • Technical Stack: Proficiency with Linux/Unix environments and experience with enterprise-grade hardware (Dell, HP, or Supermicro).
  • Networking Knowledge: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, and fiber optic cabling standards.
  • Certifications: CompTIA Server+, CCNA, or similar industry certifications are highly preferred.

Soft Skills

  • Exceptional communication skills for coordinating with on-site technicians via Slack and Zoom.
  • A “security-first” mindset with a commitment to maintaining strict access controls.
  • The ability to work independently in a remote environment while staying aligned with global team goals.

Why Join Our Team?

Work-Life Harmony

We believe that top talent performs best when they have autonomy. This is a 100% remote position, meaning no more long commutes to a noisy server room. You get the thrill of managing enterprise-scale hardware without the physical strain of lifting 40lb servers every day.

Professional Growth

We don’t just offer a job; we offer a career path. You will have access to a generous professional development budget to earn new certifications in Cloud Architecture, Kubernetes, or Advanced Networking.

Premium Benefits

  • Home Office Stipend: A one-time $2,000 allowance to build your dream remote workstation.
  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with 100% premium coverage for employees.
  • Flexible PTO: Unlimited paid time off to ensure you stay refreshed and inspired.
  • Equity Options: Competitive stock options package to give you a true stake in the company’s success.

Technical Environment

You will be working with a cutting-edge stack featuring high-density blade servers, NVMe storage arrays, and a sophisticated software-defined networking layer. Our environment is designed for scalability, and you will be at the forefront of implementing the next generation of liquid-cooling and energy-efficient compute solutions.
