Join a world-class engineering team as a Remote Datacenter Technician, managing critical hardware deployments and network stability from the comfort of your home. If you are a hardware enthusiast with a passion for uptime and scalability, this is your chance to drive the backbone of the digital economy.

About the Role

As a Remote Datacenter Technician at NexaCore Systems, you will bridge the gap between physical infrastructure and cloud virtualization. While the servers live in our high-security facilities, you will be the primary intelligence driving their configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting. This is a Remote Job for residents of Texas, allowing you to manage complex hardware lifecycles and network deployments without the daily commute.

You won’t just be reacting to tickets; you will be proactively optimizing the environment. From coordinating remote hands for physical swaps to auditing power distribution and thermal efficiency, you are the guardian of the hardware layer. You will work closely with Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) to ensure that our global footprint remains resilient, secure, and lightning-fast.

Salary Range

$65,000 – $92,000 USD/year (Depending on experience and certifications)

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Management

  • Remotely monitor server health, power consumption, and cooling metrics to prevent outages.
  • Coordinate with on-site “Remote Hands” personnel to execute hardware installs, cable management, and component replacements.
  • Manage the deployment of new rack configurations and oversee the decommissioning of legacy hardware.

Network & Connectivity

  • Troubleshoot Layer 1 and Layer 2 connectivity issues across diverse vendor hardware.
  • Configure switch ports and manage VLAN assignments to ensure optimal traffic flow.
  • Audit fiber and copper cabling maps to maintain a pristine and documented physical environment.

Compliance & Security

  • Ensure all remote hardware deployments adhere to strict SOC2 and HIPAA security standards.
  • Manage secure asset disposal and data wiping protocols for retired drives.

Technical Requirements

We are looking for a technician who speaks “hardware” fluently. To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in a datacenter environment or high-density server room.
  • Certifications: CompTIA Server+, CCNA, or BICSI certifications are highly preferred.
  • Hardware Knowledge: Deep familiarity with Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant, or Supermicro blade servers.
  • Networking: Proficiency with Cisco, Juniper, or Arista switching and routing.
  • Tooling: Experience with DCIM (Datacenter Infrastructure Management) software and remote management tools like iDRAC or ILO.
  • Location: Must be a legal resident of Texas to comply with regional tax and payroll regulations.

Premium Benefits

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) matching to secure your financial future.
  • Home office setup allowance to ensure you have the best ergonomic gear.
  • Unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO) to recharge and refocus.
