Join a cutting-edge security team where you can fight global threats from the comfort of your own home. We are seeking a vigilant Cybersecurity Specialist to architect impenetrable defenses and safeguard critical data in a 100% remote environment.

About the Role

As a Cybersecurity Specialist at NexGen Security Solutions, you aren’t just monitoring logs; you are the first line of defense in a digital war. In this fully remote position, you will be responsible for identifying vulnerabilities, neutralizing threats, and implementing robust security frameworks that protect our global client base from sophisticated cyber-attacks.

We believe that top talent shouldn’t be limited by geography. Whether you are working from a home office in Texas or a quiet studio in New York, you will have full access to our cloud-based security stack and a collaborative team of elite engineers. Your mission is to stay three steps ahead of bad actors, ensuring that our infrastructure remains resilient, compliant, and secure.

Salary Range

$115,000 – $165,000 USD/year (Depending on experience and certifications)

Key Responsibilities

Threat Detection & Incident Response

You will lead the charge in monitoring network traffic for suspicious activity and responding to security breaches in real-time. This includes conducting deep-dive forensic analysis to understand the “how” and “why” of an attack to prevent future occurrences.

Vulnerability Management

Perform regular penetration testing and vulnerability scans across all cloud environments. You will collaborate with the development team to patch security holes and harden system configurations before they can be exploited.

Security Architecture & Compliance

Design and implement scalable security protocols that align with industry standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and GDPR. You will ensure that all remote access points are encrypted and that identity and access management (IAM) policies are strictly enforced.

What We Are Looking For

Technical Expertise

  • Proven experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, LogRhythm, or Azure Sentinel).
  • Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP/S protocols.
  • Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automating security tasks.
  • Experience securing AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments.

Certifications & Education

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Industry-recognized certifications such as CISSP, CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), or CompTIA Security+.
  • A track record of managing complex security projects in a distributed team environment.

Soft Skills

  • An analytical mindset with an obsession for detail.
  • The ability to communicate complex technical risks to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-discipline and the ability to thrive in an autonomous, remote work setting.

Why Join NexGen Security Solutions?
