Remote Cybersecurity Specialist – United States – Join a Fast‑Growing Tech Leader

We are seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Specialist to protect our digital assets from evolving threats while working 100% remotely from anywhere in the United States. In this role you’ll design, implement, and monitor security measures that keep our infrastructure resilient and our customers’ data safe.

About the Role

As a Cybersecurity Specialist you will partner with engineering, operations, and compliance teams to identify vulnerabilities, respond to incidents, and continuously improve our security posture. You’ll have the autonomy to drive projects from assessment to remediation, all while collaborating with a distributed team that values innovation and proactive defense.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on networks, applications, and cloud environments.
• Monitor security alerts from SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection tools; triage and escalate genuine threats.
• Develop and maintain incident response playbooks; lead forensic investigations when needed.
• Implement and manage security controls such as firewalls, VPNs, MFA, and encryption solutions.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST) and internal policies through audits and documentation.
• Provide security awareness training and guidance to employees across the organization.
• Stay current on emerging threats, attack vectors, and security technologies; recommend improvements.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands‑on experience in cybersecurity operations, threat detection, or incident response.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, OS hardening, and cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Proficiency with security tools: SIEM (Splunk, Elastic), IDS/IPS (Snort, Suricata), EDR/CrowdStrike, and vulnerability scanners (Nessus, Qualys).
• Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation and log analysis.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, GSEC, or CISSP are a plus.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating effectively across time zones.
