Are you ready to be the digital shield that Fortune 500 dreams rely on? We are seeking a sharp, forward-thinking Remote Cybersecurity Specialist to lock down cloud infrastructure, outsmart threat actors, and build ironclad security frameworks — without ever stepping into a traditional office. If you live anywhere in the United States and crave a high-impact tech role with total location freedom, this is your moment.

About the Role

As a Remote Cybersecurity Specialist, you will be the frontline guardian of our enterprise systems, customer data, and cloud-native architecture. You will not be siloed in a backroom monitoring logs — you will be a strategic voice at the table, designing zero-trust policies, leading incident response simulations, and mentoring junior analysts across distributed teams.

This is a 100% remote, work-from-home position open to residents across the United States. Whether you are coding in Colorado, threat-hunting in Texas, or auditing from Atlanta, your impact will be felt enterprise-wide. You will collaborate daily with Engineering, DevOps, and IT Leadership via Slack, Zoom, and secure virtual environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor SIEM dashboards, IDS/IPS alerts, and cloud security posture to detect, analyze, and neutralize threats in real time.
  • Design, implement, and maintain robust security architectures across AWS, Azure, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk audits on networks, applications, and third-party integrations.
  • Develop and enforce security policies, incident response playbooks, and disaster recovery procedures aligned with NIST and ISO 27001 frameworks.
  • Lead forensic investigations into security breaches and provide executive-level reports with actionable remediation strategies.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to integrate secure-by-design principles into the CI/CD pipeline and DevSecOps workflows.
  • Maintain compliance with SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS requirements across all remote and on-prem endpoints.

Requirements

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, network defense, or information security roles.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or GIAC.
  • Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel), firewalls, endpoint protection platforms, and VPN technologies.
  • Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, SSL/TLS, encryption protocols, and common attack vectors (phishing, DDoS, malware, ransomware).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for creating clear security documentation and briefing non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred But Not Required

  • Experience with cloud security platforms (Prisma Cloud, CrowdStrike, Lacework, or Wiz).
  • Background in scripting or automation using Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Familiarity with container security (Docker, Kubernetes) and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).

Salary Range

$95,000 – $135,000 USD/year

Compensation is determined by your experience level, certifications, and geographic cost-of-living factors. In addition to base salary, this role includes annual performance bonuses, stock option eligibility, and a professional development stipend for continued education and certification renewals.

Benefits

  • 100% remote-first culture with flexible hours and async collaboration tools.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance for you and your dependents.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with a generous company match.
  • Unlimited PTO policy and mandatory wellness days to prevent burnout.
  • Annual home-office stipend to build your ideal remote command center.
  • Top-tier cybersecurity conference budget and paid training for advanced certifications.
  • Monthly internet reimbursement and state-of-the-art security hardware shipped to your door.

Why This Role Matters

Cybercrime is projected to cost the world over $10.5 trillion annually by 2025, and the demand for elite security talent has never been higher. This remote position puts you at the center of that battlefield — defending critical assets, preserving customer trust, and ensuring business continuity from the comfort (and security) of your own home.

If you are a U.S. resident with the expertise to hunt threats, harden systems, and stay three moves ahead of adversaries, we want to hear from you. Help us build a safer digital world — remotely.
