About the Role

Our Remote Cybersecurity Specialist provides comprehensive security oversight across on‑premise, cloud, and mobile environments. You will design, implement, and continuously improve security controls, conduct risk assessments, and respond to security incidents in real time. This position reports to the Security Manager and collaborates closely with development, operations, and compliance teams to embed security best practices throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Threat Monitoring & Analysis

Deploy and manage SIEM platforms to collect, correlate, and analyze security logs. Identify anomalous behavior, prioritize alerts, and investigate potential breaches using advanced forensic techniques.

Incident Response & Recovery

Lead the containment, eradication, and recovery phases of security incidents. Document procedures, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure post‑incident reviews result in actionable improvements.

Vulnerability Management

Conduct regular scans, assess risk levels, and prioritize patching across servers, workstations, and applications. Work with development teams to remediate code‑level vulnerabilities and maintain a robust patch management schedule.

Security Architecture & Compliance

Design and enforce network segmentation, access controls, and encryption strategies. Ensure alignment with industry standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, and SOC 2, performing periodic audits and gap analyses.

Continuous Education & Awareness

Stay current with emerging threats, security frameworks, and technologies. Develop training materials and deliver awareness sessions to promote a security‑first culture across the organization.

Requirements

Education & Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field. Preferred certifications include CISSP, CCSP, CompTIA Security+, or GIAC certifications.

Technical Skills

5+ years of hands‑on experience in security operations, preferably in a SOC environment. Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, IBM QRadar), EDR solutions, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and cloud security platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Strong scripting abilities (Python, PowerShell) and understanding of Linux/Windows administration.

Salary Range

$95,000 – $130,000 USD per year, depending on experience, certifications, and proven expertise in cybersecurity operations and cloud security.
