About the Role

Our organization is expanding its security operations to meet rising threats in cloud, network, and endpoint environments. You will partner with engineers, product managers, and compliance officers to build resilient defenses, conduct vulnerability assessments, and respond to incidents in real time. The position is fully remote, allowing you to contribute from your home office while staying connected through cutting‑edge collaboration tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deploy security architectures for cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on‑premise systems.
• Continuously monitor SIEM and IDS/IPS alerts, triaging events and escalating genuine threats.
• Conduct regular penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, and risk assessments.
• Develop and maintain incident response playbooks; lead forensic investigations when needed.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, and GDPR.
• Automate security tasks using scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) and orchestration platforms.
• Provide security awareness training and guidance to cross‑functional teams.
• Stay current with emerging threats, attending conferences and earning relevant certifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience in cybersecurity operations, threat detection, or security engineering.
• Proficiency with security tools: SIEM (Splunk, QRadar), EDR (CrowdStrike, SentinelOne), firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP/S.
• Experience with cloud security controls and IaC security (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Ability to write scripts for automation (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the capacity to work independently in a remote setting.
• Strong communication skills for documenting findings and presenting to technical and non‑technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, GSEC, OSCP, or AWS Security Specialty.
• Experience with DevSecOps practices and integrating security into CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of zero‑trust architecture and identity‑access management (IAM) solutions.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks like HIPAA, PCI‑DSS, or CCPA.
• Prior experience in a fully remote or distributed team environment.

Salary Range

$95,000 – $135,000 USD per year, depending on experience and location‑adjusted market rates.
