About the Role

As a Remote Commissioning Manager you will own the end‑to‑end commissioning lifecycle for projects spanning energy, manufacturing, and infrastructure sectors. You will develop commissioning plans, lead pre‑commissioning activities, oversee functional testing, and manage the transition to operations. Your expertise will be the bridge between engineering design and operational readiness, guaranteeing that every system meets performance, safety, and quality benchmarks before handover.

Key Responsibilities

Commissioning Planning & Execution

• Create detailed commissioning strategies, schedules, and resource allocations for multi‑discipline projects.
• Coordinate with design engineers, procurement, construction, and operations to align scope and timelines.
• Lead pre‑commissioning inspections, factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), and performance verification.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all activities comply with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OSHA, and industry‑specific standards (e.g., API, ASME, IEC).
• Develop and maintain commissioning documentation: test procedures, check‑lists, punch‑list tracking, and final handover dossiers.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation plans for high‑risk commissioning activities.

Stakeholder Management & Reporting

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and internal leadership on commissioning status.
• Deliver weekly progress reports, KPI dashboards, and lessons‑learned summaries to senior management.
• Facilitate training sessions for operations and maintenance teams to ensure smooth system takeover.

Requirements

Technical Expertise

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 8 years of commissioning experience on large‑scale capital projects (≥ $50 M).
• Proven track record managing FAT/SAT for process equipment, power distribution, HVAC, and control systems.
• Proficiency with CMMS/EAM tools (e.g., Maximo, SAP PM) and commissioning software (e.g., Commissioning Manager, Procore).

Soft Skills & Remote‑Work Competencies

Salary Range
