About the Role

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Commissioning Manager to lead our project execution efforts from a fully remote setting. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for ensuring that all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems are tested, calibrated, and ready for operation before handover to the client. This is a hands-on leadership position that requires you to coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, and internal engineers via video conferencing and digital project management tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute commissioning plans, scripts, and checklists for commercial and industrial projects.
• Coordinate site visits and virtual walkthroughs to verify system performance and compliance with specifications.
• Manage punch lists, warranty items, and closeout documentation to ensure projects are delivered on time.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians on best practices for testing and startup procedures.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to forecast costs, schedule resources, and mitigate risks remotely.
• Review submittals, shop drawings, and equipment datasheets to ensure alignment with design intent.

Requirements

To be successful in this remote role, you must possess a strong background in construction commissioning or quality assurance. We are looking for someone who can manage multiple active projects simultaneously without sacrificing attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in commissioning, construction management, or project engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
• Proven track record of managing commissioning for HVAC, electrical, or process systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration.
• Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera, or similar scheduling software.
• Ability to travel up to 20% for site inspections (optional but preferred).
• PMP, CxA, or LEED certification is a plus.

Salary Range

Based on industry standards and experience levels, the estimated salary for this role is $85,000 – $115,000 USD/year. This range accounts for base pay and does not include potential bonuses or benefits listed above.
