About the Role

As a Remote Commissioning Manager, you will be the central point of accountability for ensuring that mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems perform according to design specifications and client expectations. You will develop commissioning plans, coordinate field activities, manage issue resolution, and deliver comprehensive documentation that supports smooth handover to operations teams. Although you will work from home, you will regularly liaise with on‑site contractors, owners, and consultants via video conferencing, collaborative platforms, and scheduled site visits when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain detailed commissioning schedules, test procedures, and acceptance criteria.
• Lead virtual kick‑off meetings and weekly progress reviews with contractors, consultants, and client stakeholders.
• Oversee on‑site testing, troubleshooting, and performance verification of MEP systems, issuing clear non‑conformance reports.
• Coordinate resolution of deficiencies, track corrective actions, and verify closure before system acceptance.
• Prepare final commissioning reports, operation and maintenance manuals, and as‑built documentation for client handover.
• Mentor junior commissioning engineers and foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Stay current with industry standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC) and integrate best practices into project workflows.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 7 years of commissioning experience on large‑scale commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
• Proven track record managing remote or hybrid teams and delivering projects on schedule and within budget.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems, testing protocols, and relevant codes and standards.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
• Proficiency with commissioning software (e.g., CXP, iCommission) and collaboration tools (MS Teams, Slack, BIM 360).
• PMP, CxA, or similar certification is a plus.
• Authorized to work remotely from the United States; reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace required.
