Salary Range

The estimated base salary for this Remote Cloud Solutions Architect role is $135,000–$185,000 USD per year, depending on experience, certifications, and technical expertise. The compensation package may also include performance incentives, comprehensive health benefits, and professional development support.

About the Role

As a Cloud Solutions Architect, you will lead the design and implementation of cloud strategies that improve scalability, availability, security, and operational efficiency. You will work with engineering, security, product, and executive teams to evaluate business requirements, select appropriate technologies, and establish architecture standards across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud environments.

This fully remote role offers meaningful ownership from project planning through deployment. You will produce architecture diagrams, migration roadmaps, cost models, and technical documentation while providing expert guidance to development teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design secure, highly available cloud architectures for applications, data platforms, and enterprise workloads.
• Lead cloud migration assessments and create practical transition plans that minimize risk and downtime.
• Develop reference architectures, standards, and best practices for infrastructure, networking, identity, and monitoring.
• Optimize cloud spending through right-sizing, reserved capacity, automation, and continuous cost governance.
• Collaborate with DevOps and software engineering teams to support Kubernetes, containerized applications, and infrastructure as code.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions aligned with business, security, and compliance requirements.
• Provide technical leadership during architecture reviews, incident analysis, and critical implementation phases.

Requirements

• Five or more years of experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure engineering, or a related technology role.
• Strong expertise with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, including compute, storage, networking, and identity services.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, Kubernetes, Docker, or comparable automation tools.
• Proficiency in designing secure networks, zero-trust architectures, encryption strategies, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Experience creating cloud cost-management plans and monitoring solutions using tools such as CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or Google Cloud Operations.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex architectures to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Current AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud architect-level certification is strongly preferred.
