Join a forward-thinking engineering firm where innovation meets flexibility. We are seeking a talented Civil Engineer to lead sustainable design projects and manage complex infrastructure blueprints in a 100% remote environment.
About the Role
Are you a licensed professional engineer who is tired of the grueling commute and the confines of a traditional office? We are redefining how civil engineering is practiced by leveraging cutting-edge BIM software and cloud-based collaboration tools to deliver world-class infrastructure projects from anywhere in the country.
As a Remote Civil Engineer, you will be the backbone of our design phase, transforming conceptual ideas into technical realities. You will focus on site development, stormwater management, and structural integrity, ensuring every project meets rigorous safety standards and environmental regulations. This isn’t just about drawing lines on a screen; it’s about creating sustainable urban environments that will serve communities for generations, all while maintaining a perfect work-life balance.
Salary Range
$85,000 – $125,000 USD/year (Depending on experience and licensure level)
Key Responsibilities
Technical Design & Analysis
You will be responsible for producing detailed engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications. You will utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and Revit to create precise models and ensure that all designs are optimized for cost, efficiency, and durability. Your expertise will be critical in conducting feasibility studies and performing hydraulic and hydrologic calculations.
Project Coordination
Collaborating across time zones is key. You will lead virtual design meetings, coordinate with architects and urban planners, and manage sub-consultants to ensure project milestones are met on time. You will handle the permitting process by communicating with municipal agencies and ensuring all local and federal codes are strictly followed.
Quality Assurance
You will perform rigorous peer reviews of design documents to eliminate errors before they reach the field. By implementing strict QA/QC protocols, you will ensure that every deliverable is a reflection of excellence and engineering precision.
Requirements
Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred.
- EIT certification is required for junior-to-mid-level applicants.
Technical Proficiency
- Expert-level mastery of AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, or Revit.
- Proven experience with HEC-RAS or StormCAD for water resource modeling.
- Strong understanding of LEED principles and sustainable design practices.
Soft Skills for Remote Success
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for asynchronous collaboration.
- A self-starter mindset with the ability to manage deadlines without direct in-person supervision.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira, Trello, or Asana.
