Join a forward-thinking engineering firm where you can lead high-impact urban development projects without the commute. We are seeking a licensed Civil Engineer based in Texas to leverage cutting-edge BIM software and sustainable design principles in a 100% remote environment.

About the Role

Are you tired of the rigid 9-to-5 office grind and the endless travel to dusty construction sites? We are redefining how infrastructure is designed. As a Remote Civil Engineer at Nexus Infrastructure Group, you will be the primary architect of critical land development and water management projects. This isn’t just a drafting job; it is a leadership position where you will oversee the lifecycle of projects from initial conceptualization to final regulatory approval.

In this role, you will collaborate with a distributed team of architects, urban planners, and government officials via cloud-based collaboration tools. You will be responsible for ensuring that every project meets stringent safety standards while pushing the boundaries of sustainable engineering. If you have a passion for precision and a desire for a work-life balance that actually exists, this is your dream role.

Salary Range

$85,000 – $125,000 USD/year (Depending on experience and licensure level)

Key Responsibilities

Design & Analysis

  • Develop detailed site plans, grading plans, and drainage reports using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Revit.
  • Perform complex hydraulic and hydrologic calculations to ensure environmental compliance.
  • Create comprehensive technical specifications and cost estimates for large-scale municipal projects.

Project Management

  • Coordinate with stakeholders via Zoom and Slack to ensure project milestones are met on time.
  • Review contractor submittals and provide remote technical guidance to field teams.
  • Manage the permitting process with local Texas municipalities and state agencies.

Quality & Compliance

  • Conduct rigorous quality assurance reviews on all engineering drawings.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and local zoning laws.
  • Implement sustainable “Green Infrastructure” solutions to reduce environmental impact.

Requirements

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred; EIT certification is required.
  • Must be a current resident of Texas to comply with state-specific licensing and regulatory requirements.

Technical Skills

  • Expert-level proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and HEC-RAS.
  • Proven experience in stormwater management and land development.
  • Strong ability to manage digital workflows and cloud-based project management software.

Soft Skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for remote stakeholder management.
  • A self-starter mentality with the ability to manage time effectively without direct supervision.
  • A critical eye for detail and a commitment to engineering excellence.
