About the Role & Impact

As an Artificial Intelligence Researcher at NexusAI Labs, you will move beyond theoretical exploration to build the next generation of AI systems. You will be tasked with designing, implementing, and evaluating novel algorithms for our core platforms, focusing on efficiency, scalability, and robustness. Your primary mission is to publish groundbreaking research and translate it into scalable products that solve complex challenges in healthcare diagnostics and autonomous systems. This is a hands-on role where you will spend 70% of your time in deep research and prototyping, and 30% collaborating with engineering teams to integrate your findings.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead research projects from conception to experimentation, publishing in top-tier conferences (NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR).
• Develop and optimize state-of-the-art machine learning models, with an emphasis on transformer architectures and reinforcement learning.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product and data science teams to define research problems with clear business impact.
• Mentor junior researchers and contribute to building a world-class remote research culture.
• Maintain a deep awareness of the latest academic and industry advancements in AI.

Qualifications & Expertise

Required Credentials

• PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• 3+ years of post-PhD research experience in a lab, tech company, or top-tier academic institution.

• Mastery of Python and deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow/JAX).
• Expert-level knowledge in core ML domains: deep learning, probabilistic modeling, and optimization.

Compensation & Benefits

For this role, the estimated base salary range is $150,000 – $220,000 USD/year, determined by experience, expertise, and market location.
