Join Helix Cognitive Technologies as a fully remote Artificial Intelligence Engineer and build intelligent systems that scale across industries. This 100% work-from-home position lets you collaborate with elite data scientists while enjoying the flexibility of a distributed career.

About the Role

Helix Cognitive Technologies is a forward-thinking AI research and product company serving clients in healthcare, finance, and logistics. We are hiring a Remote Artificial Intelligence Engineer to join our distributed engineering pod. In this role, you will own the end-to-end lifecycle of machine learning models—from data ingestion and feature engineering to deployment and monitoring in cloud environments. You will work asynchronously with teammates across time zones, using modern MLOps tooling to ship reliable models that solve real business problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement deep learning architectures for natural language processing and computer vision tasks.
  • Build reproducible training pipelines using Python, PyTorch, and TensorFlow within containerized environments.
  • Optimize model inference latency for edge and server deployments.
  • Collaborate with product managers remotely to translate business needs into AI solutions.
  • Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and pair programming sessions over video.
  • Monitor model drift and establish automated retraining workflows.

Our Remote Tech Stack

  • Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and JAX for model development.
  • Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform for infrastructure as code.
  • GitHub Actions and Argo Workflows for continuous integration of ML pipelines.
  • Weights & Biases and MLflow for experiment tracking.
  • Slack, Notion, and Loom for asynchronous collaboration across continents.

Requirements

Must-Have Skills

  • Proven experience as an AI or Machine Learning Engineer with at least three years in production environments.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with C++ or Rust for performance-critical components.
  • Deep understanding of neural networks, transformer models, and reinforcement learning basics.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS SageMaker, GCP Vertex AI, or Azure ML.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting with excellent written communication.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice-to-Have

  • Contributions to open-source AI libraries or published research papers.
  • Experience with vector databases and retrieval-augmented generation systems.
  • Familiarity with privacy-preserving machine learning such as federated learning.

Salary Range

Based on current industry standards for remote AI engineering roles in the United States and global talent markets, we estimate a competitive compensation of $130,000 – $175,000 USD/year. The final offer depends on experience, location flexibility, and demonstrated impact in previous roles. Top performers receive annual reviews with upward adjustments and equity participation. This salary range reflects the value we place on specialized artificial intelligence talent working outside traditional office structures.

Benefits

  • 100% remote work with flexible hours and asynchronous meeting culture.
  • Home office stipend of $1,500 for ergonomic setup and reliable hardware.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance for US-based residents, plus international coverage options.
  • Annual learning budget of $2,000 for courses, conferences, and books.
  • Generous paid time off and parental leave policies that respect local norms.
  • Quarterly team retreats in rotating global cities with travel and lodging covered.

Remote Work Environment

At Helix Cognitive Technologies, remote is not a perk—it is our operating system. You will receive a clear onboarding path, a dedicated Slack channel for social connection, and documented workflows that remove ambiguity. We trust our engineers to manage their own schedules and deliver measurable outcomes. Our distributed culture celebrates deep focus time as much as collaborative bursts, ensuring you can do your best thinking from wherever you call home.

Why Helix Cognitive Technologies

We believe remote work is the future of knowledge jobs. Our company was born distributed, with team members in over 15 countries. As a Remote Artificial Intelligence Engineer, you will never be tied to a corporate office. Instead, you will enjoy autonomy, outcome-based evaluation, and a supportive community of brilliant minds. We prioritize clear documentation, transparent roadmaps, and a bias for action. If you are eager to push the boundaries of artificial intelligence while working from your living room, this is the role for you.

About Our Hiring Process

Our remote-friendly interview process includes a take-home coding challenge, a technical discussion, and a cultural fit conversation. Everything is conducted via video or written channels to respect your time zone. We evaluate real-world problem solving over algorithmic trivia and aim to give feedback within one week of each stage.
