Job Summary
Utilities Service, LLC is hiring a full‑time Tree Trimmer – Union in Manhattan, Riley County, Kansas. This non‑exempt position offers a competitive annual salary of $63,438.55 and a comprehensive benefits package.
Key Responsibilities
- Trim, prune, and remove trees, branches, and trunk sections safely and efficiently.
- Operate, maintain, and service chainsaws, chippers, climbing gear, and other specialized equipment.
- Cut and split large debris into manageable pieces for removal or processing.
- Apply herbicides or fire‑prevention sprays to designated areas as required.
- Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and fall‑arrest systems.
- Document work performed, equipment usage, and any incidents in daily logs.
- Collaborate with crew members and supervisors to plan daily tasks and prioritize workloads.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred.
- Union membership or eligibility to join the relevant tree‑trimmer union.
- Proven experience (2+ years) in tree trimming, climbing, or arborist work.
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude for tool maintenance.
- Good communication skills and a team‑oriented attitude.
